Ric Flair Says He Was Brought In To Teach Promos During WrestleMania Weekend Tryouts

Ric Flair reveals that he recently taught an interview class for NXT.

Throughout the history of the Performance Center, WWE has often brought many superstars and legends of the past to help train with the up and coming wrestlers in the ring and on the microphone. The promotion will sometimes even bring in performers that have never wrestled for the company as a guest coach.

While appearing on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Ric Flair revealed that the company recently had him do an interview class for stars of NXT while they were in Los Angeles for WrestleMania weekend.

“They just did,” Flair said when asked if WWE brings him in to talk to young wrestling about promos. “It’s fun. They had me come do an interview class for NXT while they were in LA. They had me do an interview class. Now, they’re on this program where they’re bringing in nothing but college athletes into the training center. When they were in LA, they brought in 50 or 100, I think it was 50, college athletes from all over the country. We went up to UCLA and they had them do endurance training and then they had them come to a seminar where I talked about how to learn how to interview, which is really hard to explain because it’s got to come from here [the heart]. The biggest problem is really, if they have 100 people at NXT right now, out of that 100, one percent might make it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Flair noted that Vince McMahon will always be his hero, no matter what he does. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
