John Cena is going for his record setting 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41 when he challenges Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Ric Flair famously held the world title on 16 occasions, and his name has been mentioned in conjunction with Cena's chase as he tries to break the record.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Flair was asked if he would be part of WrestleMania 41 to share a moment with Cena should he win number 17.
"I wish I could say that I was, but I'm not, and I understand why, and I'm not mad about it by any means. Every time they talk about the title, my name gets mentioned. They keep me relevant. It's very cool. John is a great guy. Cody is a great guy," said Flair.
Asked why WWE wouldn't want him there, Flair replied, "I work for another company. I'm sure I would be more than welcome. Absolutely, if I wasn't working with Tony, I would absolutely be there. They couldn't keep me out of the building."
Flair hasn't appeared on AEW television since AEW Revolution 2024 when he was part of Sting's retirement match, serving as a manager for Sting and Darby Allin against The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson).
Elsewhere during the interview, Flair commented on the segment between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton on WWE SmackDown. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
