Ricochet challenges for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in two weeks.
After several weeks, the WWE Smackdown World Cup on FOX has come to an end as Ricochet defeated Santos Escobar in the finals on Friday, December 2 in order to earn the right to challenge GUNTHER for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on Friday, December 16's WWE SmackDown.
Ricochet defeated Mustafa Ali and Braun Strowman to advance to the finals. On the other side of the bracket, Escobar beat Shinsuke Nakamura and Butch before the finals.

Now, Ricochet only has one more obstacle between him and the WWE Intercontinental Championship and unfortunately for him, it's the person that took the belt from him the last time.
