RJ City: I Will Take Credit For Getting Ben Mankiewicz Involved With AEW

RJ City takes credit for Ben Mankiewicz appearing on AEW programming.

"The Voice of Turner Classic Movies" Ben Mankiewicz has appeared on AEW programming several times since the inception of the "Timeless" Toni Storm character. While everything needs to run through Tony Khan, RJ City believes he deserves the credit for Mankiewic's appearances. He is the first person to mention him, jokingly introducing himself as "Not Ben Mankiewicz."

AEW Continental Classic Semifinals Set For AEW Worlds End

RJ City spoke about Mankiewicz's AEW appearances during his appearance on the Eyes Up Here podcast with former ECW star Francine.

"I think there is a lot out there that is more simpler than it is. The real story is a lot more complex. I always throw out ideas when it comes to capturing cinema, that kind of thing. ‘What about this old movie? What about that old movie?’ I guess, in a sense, I am a cinema consultant. In a sense. I’m helping the crew capture the essence of Toni Storm. In the beginning, I was in a couple of her films, I introduced a few of them. I will take credit, despite what Tony Khan wants to say, I will take credit for getting Ben Mankiewicz involved. That was me because I said, ‘Hello, I’m not Ben Mankiewicz’ on Dynamite. That turned into us being able to work with him, which was the highlight of my life."

As Ben Mankiewicz has said, Turner Classic Movies loves finding movies in unexpected places, and AEW may be the most unexpected place of them all.
