Rob Van Dam says the Motor City Machine Guns have been ready for this.
Former TNA stars the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) made their long-awaited WWE debut on the October 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. Given their success elsewhere, many fans expected them to rise to the top in WWE. However, few could have predicted that they would win titles just three matches into their WWE run. They won the WWE Tag Team Championship on the October 25 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Speaking on 1 Of A Kind With RVD, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam commented on the Motor City Machine Guns winning the titles.
“Well deserved, congratulations. They’ve been busting their ass for a long time, and perseverance has paid off. That’s the story right there. Those guys are both really good. Good dudes. They seem like they’ve always been ready and waiting, so it seems like this is great, like a payoff. I don’t feel like they had one more life lesson to learn, and once they learned that, then they’ll be ready. I kind of feel like they’ve been ready, they’ve been knowing what they’re doing, putting on great matches. I’m sure they had to adjust a little for WWE, everybody does. It’s a little bit different, the style, the agenda. But anyway, that’s awesome, and I think they’ll make great tag team champions. I think they’ll do really well," Rob Van Dam said.
