Ron Funches Says He's Thought Of Being A Wrestling Manager, Would Like To Manage Scorpio Sky

Whether he's doing commentary on GCW shows or having Ric Flair appear on his stand-up specials, Ron Funches has proven himself to be one of the biggest celebrity advocates of wrestling.

Appearing on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Funches discussed the possibility of taking his love of wrestling to the next level by becoming an on-screen manager, revealing he's done some wrestling training already.

"I could take a bump if necessary. I'm surprisingly strong and also I'm quick-witted and could get heat, for sure. I could help a lot of wrestlers. Of course [I've thought about being a manager]. I went to wrestling school for three months at Santino Brothers Academy. The only things I wanted to do in life were stand up or wrestling," he said.

When asked by Paquette who he could see himself managing, Funches replied, "The people I love can already talk. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens don't need me. You know who I would be good with? Scorpio Sky. I think I'd be great with him. He's talented, strong, good looking. I could go up there and say all these things for me."

Sky is currently aligned with Ethan Page in AEW. Funches hosts Chopped 420 on Discovery Plus and his own podcast entitled Gettin Better.
