Ron Simmons discusses The Undertaker.
The Undertaker has been on the minds of many in the wrestling industry as of late ever since it was announced that he would be headlining the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2022. The Undertaker is one of the rare breeds of superstars that has spanned several generations of superstars leaving an impression on many along the way.
Perhaps his most dominant decade was the 1990s. By 1997, The Undertaker was already a two-time WWE Champion when he was put up against Faarooq, Ron Simmons, at the King of the Ring pay-per-view. Although it would be the only time that these two men would face off in a major singles match, through the years Ron Simmons and The Undertaker formed a special bond, and Simmons, like many of The Undertaker's peers, considers The Phenom to be one of the toughest men to ever lace a pair of boots.
Ron Simmons explained the amount of respect he has for the Undertaker while appearing on the Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
"Man, and you're one of them. It takes a lot, right? -- I've got a few guys [whose picture] is hanging up on my wall at home. But in order to make my wall, I consider -- you've got to be above a man, right? Listen, he's one of them. Ever since I've known Undertaker and have been a friend of his, I have watched him throughout the years. I've never heard the man bitch or moan about doing anything, Okay? I've watched him work his ass off, Steve, when he was hurt, and I'm somewhat of that kind of guy to have gone through those things to work through injuries. That kind of stuff was I've been accustomed to. I've got nothing but respect for him," said Simmons of The Phenom.
Simmons joined the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012, back when Undertaker was still competing regularly and undefeated at WrestleMania.
