Rosa Mendes' training over the past number of months has culminated.
During Rosa Mendes' run in the WWE she did not step into the ring often as she was normally accompanying wrestlers to the ring; Zack Ryder, Alicia Fox, Primo & Epico, Fandango, and Carlito were all managed by Mendes. Rosa Mendes wrestled her last match for WWE at a house show in 2015 during the company's tour of the United Kingdom. Four months after her last match she announced that she was pregnant and shortly after began her time as a backstage interviewer for the SmackDown brand while she was pregnant.
It was a brief run for Mendes as a backstage interviewer because in that same month she went on maternity leave and gave birth to her daughter in February of 2016. One year later on her daughter's first birthday Mendes announced her retirement from the sport of pro wrestling. Fast forwarding a year later and Rosa Mendes is making her in-ring return at a 'Maryland Championship Wrestling' show in a tag team match as she teamed with a man who she formerly managed in WWE, Adam Rose, and they took on the tandem of Gia Scott & Joe Keys. Rosa picked up the victory in her return match.
