Rusev Recalls Jeff Hardy Not Protecting Himself On A High Kick

Rusev has caught many foes with his high kick in the ring, and most of them took it well. But Jeff Hardy was one of the few who didn't listen to Rusev when he told him "get your hands up."

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Rusev recalled catching Jeff with a stiff kick in the ring.

John Bradshaw Layfield Reflects On Eddie Guerrero's Life, Wishes He Was Still Here

"Working with Jeff, it's Jeff freakin' Hardy. I pride myself on being a good worker; stiff when I need to be, very light when I want to be. It's Jeff Hardy and I'm very careful. I do a high kick and I always tell people, 'put your hand up.' I don't think I've ever caught anybody -- No, I caught Big E, I think I concussed him once. I was barefoot, it was a high kick over the ropes and I just heard him say, 'Oh Fuuuu.' [Laughs]. Big E never complains -- I'm pretty safe, but I don't want to be responsible. Better safe than sorry. Jeff is like, 'No problem.' You're hitting somebody straight in the head, so you've got to be really freakin' good or you gotta tell them to protect themselves. I do both. I'm really fucking good and I tell my opponent to protect himself. Here comes the sequence. High kick. Jeff, I told him to put his hands up. It's Jeff Hardy, he's immortal. Jeff [puts his hands by his side]. Straight down. My kick, I got him really good, right on the head. I went to cover, he barely kicks out. I sit and stare at him, 'Is he alive?' It's Jeff Hardy, nothing stops Jeff Hardy," recalled Rusev.

Rusev praised both Jeff and Matt Hardy for being great guys to work with.

It seems as if Rusev's wrestling days are behind him as he stated during a recent Twitch stream that he is now a professional Twitcher. You can find his full comments by clicking here
