Lio Rush: My Current Path Could Potentially Lead Me Back To WWE, It Would Ultimately Be Up To Me

Lio Rush thinks his current path could potentially lead him back to WWE.

The independent wrestling scene is currently plentiful of former WWE and/or AEW stars. One of those names is Lio Rush, who has spent time with both companies before. Rush is currently a big name in companies such as NJPW, MLW, and GCW.

While appearing on a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Lio Rush was asked if his current path in the world of wrestling could eventually lead him back to WWE. Rush made sure to note that he wants to make every opportunity count so that there's no wasted time or movement within his life.

“Uhm, I think that it potentially could. I think it potentially could lead me back to WWE. I think at a certain point, it would ultimately be up to me if I wanted to go that route again or not. I realize that nothing is forever, so being presented with certain opportunities, I wanna make the most out of them. I wanna do my absolute best to make sure that there’s no wasted time or wasted movement or effort. Every little thing that I do needs to be a building block to a bigger legacy or whatever the case may be to continue to do the things that I want and to create opportunities for my kids so they can do whatever they truly want. So if spending another three, five, ten years in WWE to build something bigger than me, I’ll take that. I feel like me going through that process and knowing how that system is like and how things are ran… I think already having that experience and that showing on television that worked could work out in my favor. I see it all the time. I think a great example of that, and obviously he’s not the only one, but [someone] I’ve seen [do it] in real time is Drew McIntyre. I wrestled him on the indies and if I’m not mistaken, I think I was his very last or second to last match before he ended up going back.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rush also made sure to not rule out a future return to All Elite Wrestling. Rush's previous stint with the company lasted under a year.

Rush is once again set to challenge Hiromu Takahashi for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion on March 21. Click here to learn more about the championship match.
