Speaking on the Shining Wizards Wrestling Podcast, Adonis commented on signing with MLW and confirmed that he will also continue to work with MLW. He then noted that contracts can be problematic in the wrestling world because performers often sign for the instant gratification and later come to regret the decision.

"Absolutely, I will be at TripleMania this Saturday. I for one have honestly been kind of anti-contract for the past few years. I think, in wrestling, contract is kind of an oxymoron because everybody’s conditioned and taught by their wrestling school that signing is the answer to all of your problems. A lot of times, people aren’t thinking long-term. They just wanna sign so they can put that graphic on their social media, ‘This person signs with this company.’ Then six months down the line, they ask for their release because they didn’t read the contract. They just want the gratification to appear today," Adonis said.

Speaking for himself, he noted that he previously didn't have any desire to sign a contract unless it was the right deal for him. Adonis noted that he has turned down offers, including one from MLW, because it didn't line up with his professional plans. However, he made it clear that he enjoys the company's product.

"For the longest period of time, I had no desire to sign any contract unless it’s gonna be the right contract. So in the past four or five years, I turned down a fair share of them, and one of them which was MLW. They reached out a couple months back and wanted me to sign a deal, and it didn’t match up. I had my professional plans. It has nothing to do with their product because personally, I really do enjoy their product. It kind of has a different kind of approach if you ask me. They kind of just go for a different audience, they’re kind of thinking a little bit more out of the box in my opinion," he said.

Adonis went on to describe how Konnan, AAA's principal booker, presented him with the opportunity to work for MLW while continuing to perform for AAA and on the independent scene. He stated that MLW gave him an offer he couldn't refuse, and he's confident that his best years are yet to come.

"Either way, they work close with Konnan, and Konnan is the principal booker in AAA, so he actually presented me with the opportunity. I made it clear to everybody, I said I right now enjoy my independents. I enjoy what I do. I am obligated to Mexico, it’s where I wanna be. I’ve been able to do a lot of the things I wanna do in my career right now, and they basically made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. So you know, why not? I understand why different wrestling companies and the TV companies do their contrasts with licensing and agreements and such, and investing into a character. But everything all lined up, Konnan presented it, I spoke with MSL and Court Bauer, and everything fell into place. Now you will be able to see me on beIN SPORTS. I am member of the MLW roster as well as a member of the Lucha Libre AAA roster. I’m still able to do my independent appearances. I’ve been saying it for the last couple years, now it seems like it’s finally starting to catch on, but I think my best years are yet to come," Adonis said.

Adonis will compete at AAA TripleMania XXX: Mexico City on October 15. Check out the card here.
