Sammy Guevara Quits Inner Circle After Another Falling Out With MJF, Says He Needs Time Away

The Inner Circle faction has lost one of its founding members.

From the start of AEW, the Inner Circle faction was formed to spotlight new stars and Chris Jericho was proud of handpicking every member. Sammy Guevara was his protege and even a tag team partner as part of Le Sex Gods.

When Chris Jericho lost to Maxwell Jacob Friedman at AEW Full Gear, Maxwell earned the right to join the group. Ever since he earned the group, there was tension building between him and Sammy Guevara. On December 9th, Guevara told Jericho that if there was one more incident with Friedman, he would quit the group.

Sammy is a man of his word.

On the February 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman tried to frame Sammy Guevara as trying to take over the Inner Circle faction. When Sammy Guevara caught on to this, he smashed MJF’s phone and punched Friedman in the stomach.

After Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Chris Jericho defeated The Acclaimed, Sammy Guevara came to the ring to formally quit the faction. Following this, he was seen walking out of the building saying he needed time away to collect his thoughts.
