Samoa Joe States That He Was Not Worried About Getting A Call From WWE About Signing With Them

Samoa Joe lost no sleep over it.

"The Destroyer" Samoa Joe has the opportunity to win his first championship on the WWE main roster next Sunday on August 19th at SummerSlam when he challenges AJ Styles for Styles' WWE Championship. Throughout Joe's three years with the WWE, he has won the NXT Championship on two separate occasions. Ahead of his WWE Championship match at SummerSlam Joe spoke with Sky Sports and discussed signing with the WWE. Joe stated that prior to the company reaching out, he was never the one to sit around and lose sleep over the thought that WWE may never call.

"It wasn't a doubt that I wrestled with," he said. "Was it a doubt? Sure, but it wasn't something I was sitting at home worrying about. I've always made my opportunities, I've never been one to wait for them and sit around waiting for something to happen. I've always sought them out. It was the same thing with WWE. There were a lot of people making the connection and we came to a great agreement."
