Hikaru Shida has earned a shot at the gold.
In the main event of the September 29 episode of AEW Rampage, Hikaru Shida defeated Ruby Soho to earn a shot at the AEW Women's World Championship. During the closing moments, the referee got knocked out of the ring when Soho tried to use a spray can on Shida. Shida then hit her with a kendo stick and rocked Soho with the Katana. Initially, no one was around to count the pin, but Aubrey Edwards came out to do so.
As a result, Shida will challenge Saraya for the AEW Women's World Championship at AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday on October 10.
