Sasha Banks got married to her longtime boyfriend, WWE Costume Designer Sarath Ton (aka wrestler Kid Mikaze), at some point last year. There were rumors about it, a photo that floated around for a bit, but it was never confirmed--until now.
Sasha admitted to Lillian Garcia on Garcia's Making Their Way To The Ring podcast that she is married, and she divulged the reason for the secrecy as well.
“Okay, you know what? Yes. I’ll tell you. You’re the first one I’ve admitted it to. I am married. I just hide it because our fans are so crazy sometimes, you know? ... I don’t know, I just think fans are just so crazy. I see what they write to him on Twitter, and I don’t like that stuff. If you’re saying he’s ugly, or he shouldn’t be with me because of this or that, that hurts me, you know? ... I just don’t like that he gets... he reads that every day, you know what I mean? And he’s such an amazing person.”
Sasha Banks fans have been tearing down a beautiful relationship between two people in love, because in their eyes, the man isn't conventionally "attractive" enough to deserve the woman.
And Sasha was so worried about the trolling getting worse with the news of the wedding that she tried her best to keep the whole thing a secret. It's a sad reminder of how hurtful fans' idle words can be to the performers they claim to admire and idolize.
