After more than a decade, Seth Rollins competed in an NXT ring on June 20.
Night One of NXT Gold Rush was headlined by a World Heavyweight Championship Match between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. There were questions surrounding Rollins' health heading into the bout as he had just suffered a vicious attack at the hands of Finn Balor the night before on RAW.
Despite having his ribs taped up, Rollins did in fact compete. He and Breakker had a hard-hitting affair that saw Bron almost capture the title after hitting Seth with a spear. Rollins, however, would fight back and, eventually, close out the match after landing two stomps. After the bell, he had a look of disbelief on his face, as if he couldn't believe how close to the edge Breakker brought him.
As Rollins was heading up the ramp, he was attacked from behind by Finn Balor. The Judgment Day leader was about to hit a Coup De Grace on Seth when Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams came to his aid.
Balor is set to challenge Rollins for the Heavyweight Championship on July 1 at Money in the Bank. The updated card for that event can be seen here.
