Seth Rollins says it stings to be on the outside looking in on the main event of WrestleMania 39.
Seth Rollins is a bona fide headliner in WWE. Throughout his time as a WWE Superstar, Seth Rollins has accomplished a lot on the stage of WrestleMania. In 2019, he defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. In 2017, he defeated Triple H at WrestleMania. In 2015, in his first WrestleMania as a singles competitor, Rollins closed out WrestleMania as the WWE Champion after cashing in his WWE Money in the Bank briefcase.
However, one thing Seth Rollins has never done at WrestleMania is compete in the final match at the grand spectacle as one of the advertised competitors.
Cody Rhodes will get that honor this year as he challenges Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Last year, Cody Rhodes successfully returned to WWE at WrestleMania by defeating Seth Rollins.
Now, Seth Rollins is on the outside looking in on the main event of WrestleMania 39. During a recent Sports Guys Talk Wrestling appearance, Rollins explained that he feels slighted to miss out on such a generational moment.
"I don't know the answer to that question, man," said Seth when asked if he thinks Cody Rhodes will be able to defeat Roman Reigns. "It's very hard for me to look at that match unbiased. I want that match. I want that spot. I want that title and to not have it — there's a lot of salt in the wound having to talk about it. So it's difficult for me to analyze.
"You've got Roman Reigns, who's on an incredible run, but you've got Cody Rhodes, who's riding a lot of momentum," Seth continued. "So when those two guys meet — if that is the match. It could be Sami Zayn in that spot. Who knows? We'll see after [WWE Elimination Chamber]. It's going to be a generational main event of WrestleMania. Again, hard for me to feel any way but slighted by it. So that is what it is."
Seth Rollins did say that he would be very supportive of whatever the main event of WrestleMania is and believe that it will be a tremendous match, regardless of whether or not he is involved.
