Brock Lesnar didn't want to wait. If he couldn't be in the main event, he was going to open the show and then get out of New York. Paul Heyman immediately called out Seth Rollins for the Universal Title showdown and just like that, the match was on as the opening contest at WrestleMania 35. Lesnar jumped Rollins before the bell, laying him out on the floor with an F5 and sending him across announce tables. Once the bell rang, Lesnar took Rollins to suplex city.

Lesnar looked to put Rollins away in the ring with an F5, but Rollins escaped and hit a low blow after running Brock into the ref. Rollins wasted no time following up, hitting three Stomps in a row. Much to everyone's surprise, Lesnar stayed down for the count and Rollins became the new Universal Champion.

The victory ends Lesnar's 156-day reign as Universal Champion and marks the first time Rollins has held this particular title.
