Speaking with The Undertaker on his Six Feet Under podcast, Shawn Merriman commented on working with TNA.

“I got my Lights Out sports streaming service that we just launched, almost four months ago. We got thirty channels in there, like motocross, motorsports, and TNA Wrestling’s on there. I just did a pay-per-view with them about four months ago. So we launched TNA Wrestling on the app, so I reached out to the guys over at Anthem, who I did a deal with. I said, ‘Man, we should do something big to launch TNA on the platform.’ They said, ‘Yeah, we’ll be in Vegas in a couple months.’ I said, ‘I have to do the show.’ So the whole goal was, my boy AJ Francis, we played football at the University of Maryland. The whole thing was, I was gonna come there and kind of help him out, kind of start it off, that we were going against each other. So the crowd saw us going back and forth. Then the ref got distracted, turned around, I clotheslined the hell out of Joe Hendry. It got this big pop. Right now, he’s big. He’s caught fire. He’s really big right now, so I thought that would be a big thing. They liked it, they liked the idea. The crowd, it was a big pop [when] that happened. So yeah, that’s how we kind of kicked it off," Merriman said.
