Shayna Baszler: Ronda Rousey And I Are Tired Of The WWE Women's Tag Division Being So Temporary

Shayna Baszler discusses her goals for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

Baszler, a two-time champion with Nia Jax, won the titles again with Ronda Rousey on the May 29 episode of WWE Raw. The titles had been vacated following Liv Morgan's injury, as she and Raquel Rodriguez were forced to relinquish the titles. This change was the latest in a long series of obstacles the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships have faced, but Baszler hopes to add stability to the division.

Speaking with Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Baszler stated that she and Rousey are tired of the division being so temporary, as teams often get thrown together before they quickly break up. She noted that they aim to build a tag division that doesn't take away from the singles division.

"We didn’t just want these titles. We’re tired of a tag division that’s so temporary all the time, like ‘Oh, we need to do something, let’s throw some girls together.’ We want to make a tag division. It’s very possible to have tag teams that also wrestle for singles, so I think we can build a tag division that doesn’t take away from the singles scene at all, so that’s what we want to do right now," Baszler said.

In the same interview, Baszler stated that Ronda Rousey demanded their tag team run. Click here to see what she had to say.
