Shayna Baszler Says Championship Gold Is The 'Eventual Path' After She Beats Ronda Rousey

Shayna Baszler says everybody will look her way once she takes out Ronda Rousey in their impending fight at WWE SummerSlam 2023.

Shayna Basler and Ronda Rousey have agreed to a fight at SummerSlam. So far, the rules have yet to be specified, but "The Queen of Spades" promises to take Ronda Rousey out at what she does best on August 5 in Detroit, Michigan.

Once she does that, she's hoping the championship gold will be in her future, as she told News 18.

"Once I take care of Ronda Rousey, and I called for it to a fight. So I'm gonna beat Ronda Rousey at what she's the best in the world at. I think everyone's head has to look in my direction after that. So whether that happens in, you know, a month or a year, I think that's the eventual path that happens," Baszler said about eventually becoming champion in WWE.

Outside of her dominant run in NXT, where she held the NXT Women's Championship twice for a combined total of 549 days, more than any other woman in history, Baszler has never won singles gold in WWE. She has, however, become a multiple-time WWE women's Tag Team Champion, including most recently with Ronda Rousey.

Even though Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey have taken a traditional tag team split approach to their storyline, Baszler has stated in the past that she and Ronda had talked about a much different way to go about them facing one-on-one. Learn more here.
