In recent weeks, Pete Dunne has been feuding with his former Brawling Brutes stablemate Sheamus. Dunne has blamed Sheamus for his run as "Butch". He attacked Sheamus backstage on the August 12 episode of WWE Raw, and their rivalry continues to heat up.
Sheamus took to Twitter/X on August 14 and noted that Dunne had misheard him. He said that he had called Dunne "bitch" rather than Butch.

Meanwhile, Dunne has also crossed over to NXT and targeted the NXT Championship. He beat former NXT Champion Trick Williams on the August 6 episode of WWE NXT. The following week, he brawled with Wes Lee and Joe Hendry, who had also set their sights on the title.
Dunne will face Lee and Hendry in a Number One Contender's Match on the August 14th episode of NXT. The winner of the match will challenge Ethan Page for the title at NXT No Mercy.
