Shingo is moving up.
NJPW star Shingo Takagi announced that he will officially move up to the New Japan Pro Wrestling heavyweight division. He made the announcement following his victory over Hirooki Goto on the final night of B Block action in the NJPW G1 Climax 29 tournament.
Shingo went 4-5 in the G1 Climax 29 tournament, scoring victories over Goto, NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, Taichi and Toru Yano. He lost to Tetsuya Naito, Jon Moxley, Jay White, Jeff Cobb, and Juice Robinson in block action.

Shingo is part of the Los Ingobernables de Japon group and brought in to be a replacement of sorts for Hiromu Takahashi as the LIJ Ace in the Junior Heavyweight Division. Shingo captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships with BUSHI and made it to the finals of the Best of Super Juniors tournament this year, going undefeated in block action before losing to Will Ospreay in the finals.
He is scheduled to team with his LIJ stablemates BUSHI, SANADA, EVIL, and Tetsuya Naito against Ryusuke Taguchi, Tomoaki Honma, Toru Yano, Hirooki Goto & Togi Makabe on the final night of the G1 Climax tournament.
