Former two time NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by Crave Online ahead of tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Orlando event.
He said he realizes he needs to switch up his gameplan against Bobby Roode for their rematch or risk losing to him again. Nak's over-reliance on knee based offense hurt him the last time... literally.
“He injured my leg again so I need to change my style," Nakamura began, "but I want to enjoy this match because NXT TakeOver Orlando is the biggest NXT of the year and the audience comes from all over the world and I want to wrestle the best of Bobby Roode.”
If Nakamura can pull it out tonight, he would be the first ever Three-Time NXT Champion. something that Nakamura understands the significance of. “It will show to me that I have proven myself to the world."
Depending on the result of tonight's match, Shinsuke might have a difficult decision to make. If it were up to him, would he want to stay in NXT or move up to the main roster? “Hard question. I build the Nakamura era and I’m going to prove again who I am and show off my ability." But for now, he's focused on Bobby Roode, he says. "so I have to concentrate on TakeOver Orlando against Bobby Roode instead of that.”
