Nakamura is the new Intercontinental Champion.
The first match of WWE's Extreme Rules Kickoff show saw Finn Balor put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura defeated Balor on a recent edition of SmackDown Live which made the championship opportunity available and Nakamura was able to best Balor once again and his second victory over Balor came with the Intercontinental Championship.

The conclusion of Balor versus Nakamura saw Shinsuke connect with two "Kinshasa's" to put an end to Balor's four month reign as champion.
