Sammy won the belt from Miro on the September 29 episode of Dynamite in Rochester, New York. His reign, if we count until the 25th, ended after 87 days.
As previously mentioned, this is Rhodes' third time holding the TNT Championship. He was the inaugural champion, winning the belt at Double or Nothing 2020. He would lose the title later that summer to Mr. Brodie Lee. He would eventually win it back from the Dark Order leader in a Dog Collar match in October but lost it again the next month to Darby Allin at Full Gear.
