Spokesperson For Janel Grant Says Group Behind Vince McMahon Netflix Documentary Reached Out For An Interview

Vince McMahon will be profiled in a new six-part docuseries that will premiere on Netflix on September 25th. The series will "chronicle the rise and fall of the WWE's controversial founder." The series will include interviews with McMahon prior to his resignation, his family, and more.

It was previously reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics that Janel Grant was not interviewed for the docuseries.

In a new update, representatives for Grant said that the filmmakers did reach out for an interview, but nothing came to fruition.

“Netflix’s documentary group made initial outreach to Janel’s representation for an interview for this project,” a spokesperson for Janel Grant stated to POST Wrestling. “Despite this, no such interview came to fruition.”

Thurston reports, "However, a source with knowledge of the production confirmed that Grant was approached to participate in the series. She was asked to participate in the series multiple times, according to the source, and ultimately decided not to."

The docuseries is produced by Library Films, including executive producer Chris Smith.

Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

The lawsuit was put on hold in June pending a federal investigation involving the Southern District of New York.
