STARDOM Announces Mayu Iwatani Has Dislocated Her Pinky Finger, Withdrawn From Gold Rush PPV

Mayu Iwatani is dealing with an injury.

STARDOM took to social media on November 14 to announce that Mayu Iwatani has dislocated her pinky finger, so she has withdrawn from the Gold Rush pay-per-view in Osaka on November 18. The post also noted that Waka Tsukiyama is taking time off due to a lumber hernia.

Iwatani is the reigning IWGP Women's Champion. She last wrestled at NJPW Lonestar Shootout on November 10, where she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to retain the title. Before that, she competed on the Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League, where she teamed up with Hanan.

Iwatani previously competed at NJPW/SRARDOM Historic X-Over on November 20, 2022. There, KAIRI beat her to win the IWGP Women's Championship. Iwatani won the gold by defeating Mercedes Mone at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom on November 14.
