At the STARDOM event on December 20, Momo Watanabe defeated Hanan, Saki Kashima, and Yuna Mizumori in a first-round qualifying match for NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. She then won the four-way qualifying match at STARDOM's December 22 event, which included Syuri, Suzu Suzuki, and Tomoka Inaba.
In doing so, Watanabe advanced to the International Women's Cup at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. The winner of the match will earn a title shot in the promotion of their choosing.
