Speaking on ESPN's First Take, Shannon Sharpe shared his thoughts on John Cena's heel turn. He said that Cena ought to be ashamed of himself. Sharpe even pitched a tag team match where he would join forces with Cody Rhodes. Stephen A. Smith then made it clear that he viewed the situation differently.

“Listen, it pays to be the bad guy. I don’t have a problem with it at all. By the way, I roll with my man, The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, all day every day. That’s right, I love how he did that. I’m rolling with my man, The Rock, always. Always. That’s my guy right there. If that’s what he wanted, that’s what you do," Smith said.

Stephen A. Smith previously said that he was a fan of Cody Rhodes. He has also expressed his interest in being a heel manager.
