Steve Austin returned to the ring at WrestleMania 38, taking on Kevin Owens in the main event of night one. The match was set up as a Kevin Owens Show talk show segment, but then turned into an official match between the two men.

Austin has reportedly been pitched ideas for WrestleMania 39, but according to the man himself, he hasn't heard anything regarding a match.

"I haven't heard anything yet. We're about two weeks away. It's the biggest show of the year. Right now, WWE has as good of a roster as they've had since the Attitude Era. They have a deep roster. There are so many guys and gals who need those coveted spots. They have plenty of names and talent from draw from. They should shine the light and cameras on the current superstars," Austin told The Wrestling Classic.

When asked if he would make an appearance at WrestleMania 39, Austin said, "To be determined."

Fightful Select published the following report regarding Austin on March 13:

We've been told and reported that multiple pitches have been made to Steve Austin since last year. WWE sources believe he's been open minded to the possibility of wrestling another match for the right situation and right money, but the offers so far haven't seemed like either of those. Sources familiar with the situation told us that Austin was pitched a match with Brock Lesnar last summer or fall, but the money associated was a non-starter. Later on, Austin was offered a significantly higher amount to possibly face Roman Reigns, and we're just told he didn't get back to WWE on it.

Of late, we've heard that a very in-shape Steve Austin was made additional pitches to get on the show, but not for necessarily marquee matches. LA Knight was a name rumored online, and we can confirm that's at least been pitched. However, nobody close to Austin or in WWE have been able to verify that it's happening as of yet.

Steve Austin is scheduled to do some WWE-related promotional work for WWE 2K soon.

Fightful will continue to update fans on the status of Austin when more is known.
