Chicago Bears legend and former WCW United States Champion Steve 'Mongo' McMichael has entered hospice care.
Jarrett Payton shared the news on social media.
McMichael has been fighting against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was diagnosed with the disease in January 2021.

In the wrestling world, McMichael had a memorable run as a member of the Four Horsemen in WCW, and he is a former WCW United States Champion. He also had a successful football career; he won a Super Bowl while playing for the 1985-1986 Chicago Bears.
He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2024.
