Sting will participate in The Great Muta's last match.
On AEW Rampage: Grand Slam, The Great Muta surprisingly appeared and helped Sting win his tag team match against the House of Black.
In a digital exclusive after the match, Sting discussed his history with Muta, noting that they have wrestled each other all over the world.

Pro Wrestling NOAH subsequently announced that "The Icon" will return to Japan to be part of the Great Muta Final "Bye-Bye", the legend's last match as Great Muta, on January 22. The event will be held at the Yokohama Arena.

As of this writing, it's unclear whether the two will team up together or face each other at The Great Muta Final "Bye-Bye".
Sting and Muta previously faced each other at WCW/New Japan Supershow I. They joined forces to beat The Steiner Brothers at WCW/New Japan Supershow II.
