Triplemania, the annual professional wrestling event held in Mexico, is known for its electrifying matches, larger-than-life personalities, and unmatched atmosphere of fans and pros alike coming together under the umbrella of great tradition that is Lucha Libre. Among the many talented wrestlers and Luchadoras who graced the historical ring at Triplemania, one name stood out this year – The Hell-bent Vixen, Viva Van. With her skills as an up-and-coming talent on the rise and her captivating presence, Viva Van left a lasting impression on both fans and critics alike. And if I may say so, I was so incredibly proud!
From the moment she stepped into the arena, Viva Van was met with the importance of that moment in her career. A reminder of just how far she'd come. And a lasting vibration of all the silent battles she fought in order for her to be standing there in that moment at one of the biggest events of the year - Triplemania! Viva Van was not ignorant of the honor that she was blessed with in being able to compete with some of the best Luchadoras in the history of AAA Mexico. And so she grabbed that opportunity and held on as tight as she could and commanded attention with the clutches of hell herself to be beckoned forth.
As the bell rang, she showcased her technical prowess, her calculating strategies, her flawless moveset and high-flying that left the audience riveted. Her agility and flexibility were unmatched. The same for her look and in-ring presence. Ad any competitor worth the space in their craft knows,, when presented an opportunity like Triplemania, you have two option: sink and squander the opportunity, or rise up to the occasionally with everything you've got. Viva Van chose the latter and that's exactly what I'd expect from The Hell-bent Vixen. She approached this monumental match with the deference due to the veteran Luchadoras in the match and also the ravaging hunger of an up-and-coming talent who's just on the cusp of greatness. The perfect combination for such an opportunity...
I would be remiss if I didn't add that it wasn't just her in-ring abilities that made Viva Van a standout at Triplemania. Her character work and ability to connect with the crowd was truly remarkable as most focus on moves and forget character development entirely. With every move, she engaged the audience, drawing them into the match and making them feel like an integral part of the action. This is a key element in the very foundation of authentic Lucha Libre and she clearly understood the assignment. Her infectious energy and enthusiasm were palpable, creating an electric atmosphere that elevated the match with each woman contributing something unique and amazing highlighting the plethora of talent that was featured for Triplemania this year!
Beyond her look and in-ring abilities, and beyond her physicality and showmanship, Viva Van's dedication to her craft was evident. She had clearly put in countless hours of training and preparation to hone her skills. She came prepared. As a multi-company champion she entered Triplemania with a huge bullseye on her back and she handled it with grace under pressure and immense respect for the fact that she was competing at Triplemania.
Viva Van's commitment should serve as a reminder. A reminder that success in any field requires hard work. It requires falling in love with the process. The discipline. A genuine passion for what you're doing and the consistency and gumption to bring it all together. Its the silent battles. Its dark times where character is built.. its overcoming self-doubt. Its taking the setbacks in stride and using them as a means of inspiration. Its love, guts, and gumption.
Viva Van, she embodied all these things and more. When she entered the arena for Triplemania she chose to get everything she could out of the amazing opportunity before her. She made it a career defining moment whose memory will last her a lifetime and then some. And as she continues to rise in the world of professional wrestling, there is no doubt in my mind that The Hell-bent Vixen, Viva Van will continue to captivate audiences and leave her mark on the industry in the years to come...all hail the Hell-Bent.
