Thunder Rosa: I'm Trying To Get Back To The Ring As Soon As Possible, If It's Possible

Thunder Rosa provides an update.

Rosa has been sidelined since August 2022, as she was unable to defend the AEW Women's World Championship due to an injury. AEW crowned an interim champion at AEW All Out 2022, and the interim title became the lineal championship when Jamie Hayter beat Toni Storm at AEW Full Gear 2022. Rosa has remained absent from the ring, but she returned in a brief segment on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. She has also been advertised for AEW Collision.

Speaking with NBC Chicago, Rosa was asked about her recovery. She stated that it's going well, and she is trying to return to the ring if it's possible.

"It’s going pretty well. Things are going as they’re supposed to go. I am super happy that I’ve been pain-free. That was the most important part. I think it took forever. I think everybody’s expecting me to give them news, but I am working out every day, trying to get back into the ring as soon as possible, and if it’s possible. That’s what I’m trying to do," Khan said.

When asked what the start of AEW Collision means for her career, Rosa noted that she is open to anything. She described how she has discovered other facets of her career, and she will be happy no matter what happens next. Rosa also emphasized that it's important to live in the moment, and she's excited about AEW Collision.

"That’s a great question. I’m just open for anything that can happen in my career. I’ve always said after the injury that I suffered and reflecting on everything that has happened in the last nine, almost ten months, I’m really open for anything. I’ve discovered many facets of my career, such as being a commentator, such as being a radio host, a singer, a vlogger, always creating something new. For professional wrestling, I don’t think [it] will be any different. I will be happy no matter what happens for my career. I think it is important to live in the moment and now with Collision and with this opportunity that AEW has given to many people I can mention that will be there, Miro, FTR, MJF, and all others, I think it’s gonna be a lot of fun. It’s gonna be different, and we’re all excited to see new beginnings and new starts on a new show," Rosa said.

Miro's return has been confirmed for the premiere of AEW Collision. More information is available here.

Tony Khan recently stated that he hasn't locked AEW into a roster split ahead of the premiere of AEW Collision. Check out his comments here.

Khan previously said that Rosa has done a lot of the things AEW would ask on the path to making a return. Click here to see what he had to say.
