Bobby Fish was hired by WWE in 2017, making his television debut against Malakai Black (Alistair Black in WWE). He went on to become one of the top acts in NXT as a member of Undisputed ERA alongside Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole, and Roderick Strong.
Before coming to WWE, Fish had success in ROH and NJPW as a tag team specialist with O'Reilly.
Despite his accolades before WWE, former Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano didn't know who he was.
"I didn't even work at WWE and Mark Carrano called me up about you. It was this whole, 'Who the fuck is Bobby Fish?' I was like, 'Bobby is a great guy, I know him well.' He's like, 'He was booked, and then he wasn't booked, and now we're signing him.' 'I don't know anything about this.' I'll never forget a random call from good ol' WWE and 'Who the fuck is Bobby Fish?' Shout out to the stooge Mark Carrano. Top stooge," said Tommy Dreamer on his House of Hardcore podcast. Fish was a guest on the show.
Fish would find success in WWE, winning the NXT Tag Team Championships on two occasions. He is currently a free agent, but is working for IMPACT Wrestling.
Carrano was fired by WWE in April 2021 after infamously sending Mickie James a trash bag of her items following her release from the company.
