Toni Storm's reign continues.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm defended her title against Willow Nightingale, the reigning NJPW STRONG Women's Champion. Saraya made her return for the match, as she accompanied Storm to the ring alongside Ruby Soho following a multi-week absence. Saraya appeared in a taped promo the week of the show, but rhe pay-per-view marked her in-person return.
Nightingale overpowered Storm, and she controlled the beginning of the bout. Nightingale was outmatched by The Outcasts, but she briefly took out Sarya and Soho by banging their heads together. The duo continued to get involved, but the numbers game was neutralized when they were ejected from ringside. In the end, Storm scored the tainted victory by raking the challenger in the eye and pinning her with the Storm Zero.
