Tony Khan comments on banned moves in AEW.
On July 13, Fightful Select reported that a document that was sent out within AEW that outlined some of the changes the company was planning to make in regards to performer and fan safety. The document stated that certain moves and spots like unprotected chair shots to the head, shots to the back of the head, buckle bombs and blind moves backwards into the turnbuckle, and more would be banned. The document also had a list of moves that needed to be approved by coaches.
Appearing on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Tony Khan was asked about making the company safer and protecting the performers.
"Yes, I want to have a great pro wrestling company, a hard-hitting pro wrestling company. Those aren't really crazy changes. It's nothing that's going to change the show. It's really more guidelines for the referees than anything else, and it's good stuff for the wrestlers to know," he said.
Fightful Select has the full document outlining the changes and implementations to the company.
