Zelina Vega is officially a free agent after her non-compete clause expired on February 11.
Vega was fired by WWE on November 13, 2020 for breach of contract as she reportedly "challenged" WWE by opening an OnlyFans account and having a subscription fee of $30.
Appearing on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about AEW's interest in Vega.
"Isn't she in a 90-day non-compete? She was in a non-compete last time I checked. I've been waiting for that....I don't talk to people when they have the non-compete. If hers expired, it must have just expired. I've been waiting on her non-compete to expire. I'd have to check the math to see if she expired. When we get through this tournament and through this pay-per-view, I'd be interested to see where she's at," he said.
AEW is set to wrap up its Women's Title Elimination Tournament with the finals taking place on AEW Dynamite and the winner receiving an AEW Women's Title match against Hikaru Shida at AEW Revolution.
Vega has remained active on Twitch following her WWE release.
