Lio Rush's retirement might short lived.
On June 8, Lio announced it was time for him to retire from wrestling. He suffered an AC injury in the Casino Battle Royale at AEW Double or Nothing On June 10, Rush posted a statement on social media before his AC procedure to address the issues that led to his retirement, saying that he was fulfilled and his professional wrestling career and was happy to be moving on to be a better father and husband and pursue other passions.
On August 2, Lio announced he was cleared to return. He has already been booked for upcoming NJPW STRONG events in America.
Tony Khan tweeted on Thursday that he's talked about a potential return to AEW.
I see a lot of tweets talking about Lio Rush today. Coincidentally, I’ve been talking to @TheLionelGreen a lot recently about returning to @AEW, and it feels like something that could happen in the near future.

Following AEW Double or Nothing, Tony Khan said that he had a handshake deal with Rush and that Rush wanted to keep working with AEW. Rush is signed to NJPW.
It is unknown if Lio will return to AEW.
