Tony Khan talks Mercedes Moné.
Since leaving WWE in the Summer of 2022, Mercedes Moné has been shaping her own future in the world of professional wrestling, beginning a string of appearances with New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year. After a brief run as IWGP Women's Champion, she would look to become the NJPW STRONG Women's Champion in May.
However, disaster struck and Moné suffered a serious ankle injury that she remains recovering from to this day. That being said, the ever present speculation of Moné possibly heading to AEW has remained.
During the AEW Full Gear Media Scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Moné. Khan repeatedly noted his respect for Moné while reaffirming once again he would love to have her in All Elite Wrestling.
"She was at AEW All In and it was great having her as part of the show. I have a ton of respect for Mercedes Mone, we would love to have her anytime in AEW, and she has had a great experience with our partner, New Japan, and she would be a great addition to AEW anytime and we would always love to have her here. I have a ton of respect for her and have had great conversations with her, and I think the world of her."
As noted by Khan, Moné was spotted in the crowd for AEW's blockbuster All In event back in August at Wembley Stadium.
Moné recently stated that she can't wait to get back into a wrestling ring in 2024. You can read more here.
