When asked about CM Punk, Tony Khan says he wishes everyone the best.
Punk has been absent from AEW following the conclusion of AEW All Out, where he defeated Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship. After the show, Punk reportedlt got into a fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks backstage. Everyone involved was subsequently suspended, and Punk hasn't been directly mentioned on AEW programming ever since.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, Khan was asked whether he hopes he could mend fences with Punk.
"The whole thing, I was mostly trying not to comment on that whole situation. But I’m wishing everybody the best and hoping for the best for everyone and hoping for the best for AEW and the fans," Khan said.
During the AEW Full Gear media call, when asked about the former world champion, Khan made it clear that he had nothing but positive things to say about Punk and his contributions to AEW.
"I can’t comment on that. I have nothing but positive things to say about the contributions CM Punk has made in AEW on screen and I certainly have a lot of positive things to say about the things he did in AEW to date, but I do understand why you’d ask and I appreciate you asking," Khan said.
MJF recently stated that, in the aftermath of the aforementioned controversy, he is ready to lead AEW. Check out his comments here.
Fightful Select recently reported that some sources believe that Punk still has the "wrestling bug". More information is available here.
