The forbidden door with IMPACT and AEW opened when Don Callis helped Kenny Omega win the AEW World Title at AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming.
Since December 2020, the two companies have worked together with AEW stars appearing on IMPACT, and two AEW stars holding the IMPACT World Title, and The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) appearing on AEW television.
Following Christian Cage losing the IMPACT World Title to Josh Alexander at IMPACT Bound For Glory, many fans have wondered where the relationship stands.
"It's still open to do stuff," Tony Khan said on Wrestling Observer Live when asked about the partnership between IMPACT and AEW. "I like those guys a lot and we've done a lot of great stuff. We don't have anything booked right now and that's different than how it's been for the last year or so because for most of 2021, we've had stuff on paper planned and we don't really have anything locked in right now but that's no reason that we can't come up with something. Scott and I talk pretty regularly and I've enjoyed going to Nashville and working with those guys. My post-production office is literally upstairs from where they tape."
It is unknown when or if AEW and IMPACT will put plans on paper to work together again.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
