Tony Schiavone Announces He Got An Extension On AEW Contract

Tony Schiavone's deal with AEW has been extended.

During an exchange with Conrad Thompson on What Happened When in November 2021, Schiavone noted that he received an extension on his original three-year deal, which was signed in 2019. He did not specify how long the extension was for.

The exchange began with Thompson and Schiavone discussing the Cauliflower Alley Club and whether Schiavone would be able to attend. Schiavone said he would like to go to the event, but noted, "It's usually on a Wednesday, right?" Thompson wondered if Schiavone had something to do that day.

Schiavone replied, "I'd like to think so. Do you know something I don't?"

"No, I just know your deal is coming up and they're probably tired of your bullshit," joked Thompson.

"No, I got an extension on there," said Schiavone.

Thompson then joked with Schiavone about him appearing for ROH, IMPACT, MLW, or GCW.

Schiavone said, "Let me be very blunt. I'm doing AEW, motherfucker. If that ain't available, then I'll go back to doing something else, like I did for 18 years."

Schiavone serves as an interviewer, host, and announcer for AEW.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
