WWE has more talent coming in.
During one the spotlighted matches of CWF Mid-Atlantic's 'New Year's 2019 Knockout' show was a multi-man match involving former 3-time IMPACT X Division Champion Trevor Lee. Once the match was over, Lee got on the microphone and announced that he has signed with the WWE. Lee did add that 'New Year's 2019 Knockout' was not his last show for CWF Mid-Atlantic as he is still the promotion's Heavyweight Champion and his last appearance will be the day that he loses that title.
Trevor Lee tweeted out on January 1st that he was officially a free agent after reportedly parting ways with IMPACT Wrestling in November of 2018. Lee had his last matches with IMPACT at the company's Las Vegas television tapings going into their 'Homecoming' pay-per-view. Lee also did an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated shortly after the news made the rounds that he was departing from IMPACT and during that interview Lee listed New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE as two possible landing spots for him:
“I would love to go to WWE or New Japan,” said Lee. “I’ve done a lot in the United States in terms of big independent companies. I’ve wrestled in Mexico, Canada, England, and India, but I’d love to go to Japan.”
Also during the month of November, it was reported that current PROGRESS World Champion WALTER signed with WWE and at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool, WALTER made his WWE debut when he confronted the WWE U.K. Champion Pete Dunne.
