Trick Williams Talks Ethan Page's Diss Track, 'I Ain’t Gonna Lie, It Was Pretty Good'

Trick Williams gives credit to Ethan Page.

Before their match at NXT Halloween Havoc, both Trick Williams and Ethan Page dropped individual diss tracks on each other in an effort to promote the match. Fans debated about which track was better, but in the end, Williams walked away from the feud as a winner, retaining his NXT Championship against Page at the premium live event.

Williams will be the first person to give Page some credit though, as he respects him for going the extra mile to talk trash and promote the match.

“Yo, I ain’t gonna lie, it was pretty good. He a little too spooky, a little too down with the devil for me. But hey man, that’s one thing I can say about Ethan Page man, he’s willing to lay it all on the line and in that way, I think we’re actually somewhat similar because man we love this business and we’re gonna do what it takes to put out the best performance possible. I’m not sure how many people are willing to put in that type of time and effort, those aren’t easy to do. Write lyrics, find a beat, go to the studio, record, pay them, make a video, make it look good and then ship it out, you know, you got a couple of days to do this. Then, on top of that, it has to be good. You’re not just doing it do do it, it has to be good. So, the fact that he was willing to go the extra mile to talk his trash and promote this match, I respect that and I’m glad that he met me there.” Williams said while chatting with Armon Sadler of Stay Busy for a new interview.

Elsewhere in the interview, Page compared a possible reunion with Carmelo Hayes to the recent reconciling of The Usos. Learn more about those comments here.
