Triple H On Dwight Howard's Interest In WWE: The Ball's In His Court, All He Has To Do Is Call Me

Triple H says that if Dwight Howard wants to come to WWE, all he has to do is call.

On July 25, Triple H was promoted to the head of WWE creative, in addition to his role as the executive vice president of talent relations. Later that week, WWE held tryouts in Nashville ahead of SummerSlam. Howard, an eight-time NBA All Star, appeared at the tryouts and cut a memorable promo. He has also expressed his interest in venturing into the wrestling world.

Speaking with The Sporting News after the WWE Crown Jewel 2022 press conference, Triple H was asked whether there has been any movement on Howard potentially coming to WWE. He responded by noting that all Howard has to do is call him, and if he's willing to do the work, they'll go from there.

“I think the ball’s in his court. It’s a funny thing, Dwight, in the conversations we had was like, ‘I really want to do this, I’m serious. I really want to do this.’ But we hear that a lot, and there’s a difference between saying, ‘I wanna do this,’ and putting the grind and doing the work to get there. [He] came by our tryouts in Nashville, was incredibly entertaining, jumping in promos by himself and with others. Incredibly entertaining, really driven to want to do this. It’s just a matter for him of he’s got a lot of things going on. So when he says, ‘Hey, I wanna give this a shot,’ he’s got my phone number. All he’s gotta do is call me, and we’ll see what can happen. If he’s willing to put in the grind and drive that guys like Logan Paul and Bad Bunny and Tyson Fury are willing to put in, then let’s go," Triple H said.

Howard recently told Instagram to acknowledge him while he was wearing a Bloodline shirt. More information is available here.
