Triple H Says Edge Came To Him With A List Of Dream Matches For Himself In NXT Before Returning In 2020

Triple H says Edge was discussing potential NXT dream matches with him before he returned at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

When Edge made his return last year at the WWE Royal Rumble, a whole new world of possibilities and rematches opened up for “The Rated R Superstar.”

During an appearance on NXT on February 3, Edge revealed that it was the NXT brand that reignited his passion and inspired him to try and get cleared to once again return to the ring.

Seeing as the NXT Championship is a viable choice for Edge following his Royal Rumble victory, it is within the realm of possibility that we could one day see the WWE Hall of Famer have a run in WWE’s black and gold brand.

Speaking on the media call prior to NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, Triple H was asked about whether or not he actually sees Edge choosing to challenge for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania 37 to which Triple H says that while he is unsure about WrestleMania, he knows that edge has wanted to work in NXT for a long time.

"Edge's return has been done really well. He is in a place in his mind where he wants to build young (talent) and get them rolling in different directions," said Paul. "He's been talking to me since prior to coming back the first time at Royal Rumble 2020 about coming to NXT and not only stepping in the ring and talking but stepping in the ring and performing. Prior to him coming to the Rumble, he gave me 'here's my list. I want to work with this person.'"

Levesque continued, "That youth is exciting. Their enthusiasm, passion, drive, and desire. When he came to NXT, just knowing him, I could see the smile on his face all day as he talked with everyone. It's awesome to see. I don't think any of it is beyond the realm of possibility. We saw it last year with Charlotte and you see it this year with him playing things across the board. Depending on where WrestleMania goes, beyond that, there is availability for him to come to NXT and use his star power to help them and elevate and for him to have that final few chapters of his career the way he wants to have them. It's something he's willing to do and pushing hard to do. "

Edge announced on the February 8 edition of Monday Night Raw that he would not make his decision concerning WrestleMania until after the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is finished.
