Trish Stratus: We Knew The 'Bark Like A Dog' Segment Would Be Interpreted And Misinterpreted

On the March 5, 2001 episode of WWE Raw, Vince McMahon infamously forced Trish Stratus to bark like a dog.

The segment was done as part of a storyline where Vince was on a power trip ahead of WrestleMania X-7, and wanted to humiliate Trish.

On "Mr. McMahon," Trish recalled the segment and gave her thoughts.

"With the barking like a dog segment, they want me to be like [exhales] 'it was horrible,' but that's exactly the feeling we wanted you to feel. Don't you get it? We knew we were presenting a sensitive scene to the fans. We knew it was gonna be talked about, and be interpreted and misinterpreted. We were aware of that. The thing is, when we did that scene, we knew the comeuppance would come at WrestleMania," she said.

Trish would turn against Vince at WrestleMania X-7, where Vince faced his son Shane McMahon.

All six episodes of "Mr. McMahon" are now streaming on Netflix.

Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. On May 30, Grant agreed to pause the lawsuit for six months while the federal investigation continued against McMahon, who resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.
