Undertaker likes seeing "happy" Brock Lesnarbut thinks Roman Reigns has his number at WrestleMania 38.
Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will always be tethered to one another. aside from their star-making feud in 2002 which helped Brock Lesnar become the phenomenon that he is today, Brock Lesnar ended the Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania in 2014.
Only two people have ever defeated the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. This year, they will clash in what is being dubbed “The Biggest Match in WrestleMania History” for both the WWE World Heavyweight and Universal Championships.
Undertaker, after he was defeated by Roman Reigns in 2017, all-but-officially retired. The next night on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns declared that it was his yard now. Now, Undertaker is reflecting on how happy he is for Roman Reigns’ success in a new WWE-released video.
“To have the title that long, it means you're putting asses in seats, which is priority one,” said Undertaker. “It's a testament to his presentation of what he's doing that it's working. Because if it wasn't that title reign wouldn't be nearly as long as it has been. I'm really proud of Roman for the work that he's put in. It's really a testament to his passion for this business.”
On the road to this match, Brock Lesnar has shown much more personality. This is something that the Undertaker can relate to because, in the last two years, he has pulled back the curtain and fully embraced simply being Mark Calaway, the man behind the character.
Undertaker also discussed the new Brock Lesnar character and said that while it is cool to see him having fun, he knows that once the bell Rings, Brock Lesnar still Brock Lesnar and somebody is going to be suplexed.
"On a personal aspect of ‘happy’ Brock, I mean, it's cool to see that he's having fun. To get that much personality out of Brock, you can tell that he's having fun with what he's doing but at ‘ding ding dang,’ Brock is Brock and somebody's gonna get suplexed. Just as you can count on the sun rising and the sun setting, you could count on Brock suplexing somebody really rough."
In the end, Roman Reigns has the vote of confidence from ‘The Phenom’ to win at WrestleMania 38.
“It's hard to call I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, Roman in what possibly would be an upset,” he concluded.
Undertaker has a busy WrestleMania weekend as well but not in the way that he has been accustomed to in years past. This year, Undertaker is going into the WWE Hall of Fame and he will be inducted by none other than Vince McMahon himself. Learn more here.
